Ditching the foundation habit

I have something of a miracle to announce.
During the month of November, I didn't wear foundation, not even once!

I started to notice that the friends of mine that looked the best, that is, had the best skin, didn't actually wear foundation, so after enquiring about what make up they did wear (variety of bb creams, to concealer, to nothing) I created my own little foundation-less routine, and promised myself that I would stick with it the whole of November to see what would happen to my skin.

I should point out before hand that my skin isn't bad per se, I just get the occasional dry patches and my skin looks quite dull because of this.

So here is what I used...it all seems very pink!

I didn't use all of the above everyday - the Clinique Primer and CC cream and the Mac concealer were only for special occasions, like meals out and such.

Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream in Very Light - I LOVE this Clinique CC cream and it has completely replaced my foundation for when I need to cover my face! I love that it has SPF30 in it too! Very useful for pale girls like me.

Collection Pressed Powder in 18 Ivory - I know it's a bit counter-intuitive using a powder when I want a glowy finish but my nose oils up like you wouldn't believe! I've been using this Collection Cosmetics powder since I was about 11. I've been through countless pans as it is the only one that doesn't make me look orange. I am however eyeing up Mac Mineralize skinfinish...

Mac Studio Finish Concealer in NW15 -  I've never really used concealer but the quizzing of my friends led me to realise I should probably invest in one. This Mac concealer has an SPF of 35 and although I'm an NW10 in Mac, this was the lightest shade they do and it is fine. I use it under my eyes to make myself look awake and on particularly discoloured areas.

Benefit Highbeam* - My Holy Grail liquid highlighter. I've been using this on my cheek and brown bones recently to make me look all dewy and glowy. I'm pretty sure my mumma has bought me a full size for Christmas, which is good as I am now running out! :D

Bourjois Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer - I bought this at the Cardiff Blogger Meet, and the other girls bought the matte one. I really really love this! I think it's like £10.99 which is a bit hefty for a Boujois product but it really is lovely. It creates a moisturising dewy base for my skin and is now the first thing I reach for everyday.

Clinique Antidullness Superprimer - This is what I use when I'm getting all dressed up. This is more like a traditional primer and resurfaces my skin and removes dullness. I really love it but it is one for special occasions and it is a lot heaver on the skin than the Bourjois one (though not actually heavy, just thicker iykwim?)

I've also been drinking a hefty amount of green tea lately, but I'm not sure if that would have had any effect on my skin dryness wise.

I'm quite impressed to be honest, and think I'll only go back to foundation for very special occasions!
My skin isn't perfect but it is a lot better than it was - I think I can say I now have a 'healthy natural glow'.
